DEAN’S LIST OF HONOR STUDENTS

 

 

ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIP

 

            These scholarships are granted by the institution for graduating honor students. These scholarships are automatically valid for the first semester of the immediate school year of their graduation and may be renewed indefinitely.

 

  1. FULL (100% discount) tuition scholarship is granted to high school VALEDICTORIANS during their first semester of study. The student upon enrollment must present a Certificate of honor duly signed by the school principal.
  2. HALF (50% discount) tuition scholarship is granted to high school SALUTATORIAN during their first semester of study. The student upon enrollment must present a Certificate of Honor duly signed by the school principal.
  3. PART (25% discount) tuition scholarship is granted to high school FIRST HONORABLE MENTION student during their first semester of study. The student upon enrollment must present a Certificate of Honor duly signed by the school principal.

RENEWAL OF ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIP

 

            An entrance scholar can renew and even improve his scholarship if he meet the following minimum requirements at the end of the preceding semester.

 

NOTE: A student must have carried a full load in the preceding semester in order to quality FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP.

 

SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENT

 

            100% General weighted average of 90% or better

                       Must have no grades below 85% in all

           academic subjects

            Must have no NFEs or INCs in any academic subject

50% General weighted average of 87% or better

            Must have no grades below 83% in all academic subject

            Must have no NFEs or INCs in any academic subject

25% General weighted average of 85% or better

                        Must have no grades below 80% in all academic subjects

                        Must no NFEs or INCs in any a academic su8bjects.

                       

NOTE: Generally, only students with no pending disciplinary cases with the Office of the Guidance Counselor may apply for the renewal of scholarship. Only when such time as the student may have been cleared of the charges will he be allowed to apply for renewal.

 

1. LOURDES S. FERNANDEZ (LSF) FOUNDATION

  1. All incoming freshmen who obtain a minimum average grade of 88% in English subject, during the 4th Year High School level, and enroll in any of the following courses. Education, MassCom, BSHRM, and Computer Secretarial are automatically given 20% discount on tuition fee without any examination.
  2. All incoming fresh who have a minimum average grade of 88% in Mathematics during the  4th Year High School level and enroll in any of the following courses: engineering, Maritime Engineering, Accountancy and BS Computer Science are automatically given 20% discount on tuition fee without any examination.

2. STUDENT ASSISTANCE

            SA’s are entitled full tuitional scholarship as long as it is within the budget of the college. For interested students, simply write a letter address to the School  President, Philippine College of Science and Technology, Nalsian, Calasiao, Pangasinan.

 

3. PESFA SCHOLARSHIP

            The private Education Student Financial Assistance (PESFA) program is  one of the programs provided for under RA # 6728, “An Act Providing Assistance to Students and Teachers in Private Education, and Appropriating therefore, ”better known as the Subsidy Law. This Law which was approved on June 10, 1989, provided a statutory basis to private education for the first time in our history.

 The PESFA program seeks to achieve the following goals:

1.      To maintain a system of financial assistance which shall be made available to Underprivileged but deserving high school graduates.

2.      To allocate scholarship slots equitably and national plans, in priority courses as determined by the CHED in coordination with NEDA.

 

DEAN’S LIST OF HONOR STUDENTS

             Each semester, each college determines the students whose academic performance is exemplary. The names of those students are included and published in a dean’s List of Honor Students.

 

All grades obtained in the subject enrolled during a semester are averaged and used as basis for determining the honor students, subject to the following regualations:

  1. The student must have a weighted average of not lower than 88%.
  2. The student must not have any grade lower than 80% (Engineering) ; 85% (other course) in any academic subject including DE and must not have Inc. or Dropped in any subject.
