CODE OF CONDUCT AND ETHICS OF

PHILIPPINE COLLEGE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

 

            There shall be a Code of Conduct and Ethics, which shall govern the actuation and behavior of the students inside and outside of the college campus. Discipline is the training of the mind and the formation of good moral character geared towards the observance of laws and policies founded on justice and charity with the end in view of maintaining order in the campus.

 

 

 

CONDUCT/ DISCIPLINE IN THE SCHOOL

        Every student must have and exercises self discipline to earn due respect from his fellow students, personnel, faculty members, and administration.

        He should conduct himself and present himself in a decent manner, abiding by the generally accepted norms of good behavior at all times. He should observe courtesy and decorum in dealing with fellow students, personnel, faculty members and administrators.               He shall be responsible to know, understand and comply with the contents of the memoranda, circulars, announcements, letters, notices, directives and the like affecting him as may be regularly posted and/or disseminated by the college authorities.

        The following acts or omissions are deemed improper student conduct for which a student may be subjected accordingly to disciplinary action, to wit:

 

A. Penalty of reprimand or suspension from classes shall be imposed upon students or students, who shall commit, any of the following acts.

  1. Making graffiti on the wall.

  2. Minor vandalism/ destruction of/ damage to school property and laboratory equipment such as computer and others, table and chairs. Abuse of school facilities such as power, and water.

  3. Acts of Cheating

  4. Repeated tardiness and absences

  5. Engaging in any form of gambling inside and outside the campus

  6. Smoking within the restricted areas.

  7. Oral defamation against any student, teacher, personnel

  8. Non – use of ID for entry. Non presentation of school ID card within the premises upon request by school authorities.

  9. Discourtesy or abusive behavior towards school officials, faculty member and personnel.

  10. Breaking of silence in the library and creating unnecessary noise along corridors during class hours.

  11. Provoking challenging any person/group from participating schools to fight in and off campus.

  12. Unauthorized banging of brass bell and other alarm devices.

  13. Littering in the classroom, officers, corridors, and school premises.

  14. Throwing any objects at the court to the opposing players, teams, referees

  15. during school activities.
  16. Posting announcements without proper approval and, tampering of announcements on bulletin Board.

  17. Jeering at any individual during activities participated by the school i.e. uttering offensive remarks to any concerned during games and school function.

 

NOTE: Repeated commissions of the above- mentioned acts shall result to Expulsion.

 

            B. Penalty of suspension or Expulsion shall be imposed upon to student or student who shall commit the following acts inside and outside and outside the school campus.

  1. Gross misconduct, including the act of lasciviousness or other sexual misbehavior.

  2. Dishonesty

  3. Production, possession, distribution, publication, exhibition and dissemination of literature, films, prints, plays, shows or similar forms which are offensive to morals, country to law and college policies.

  4. Membership in any unauthorized organization such as fraternities.

  5. Hazing or any acts results in injury to any person through intimidation, intentional force, or reckless imprudence.

  6. Carrying and possession of firearms or deadly weapons.

  7.  Immorality

  8. Pushing selling, distributing, sniffing, smoking or using prohibited drugs

  9. Entering the College premises under the influence of using prohibited drugs.

  10. Disrespect to any national symbols, i.e. walking talking during singing of national anthems, burning flags. Disrespect religious activities i.e. making noise during mass.

  11. Decoding accessing, altering any computer data o9r program without authorization from school preventing normal operation.

  12. Bribery of offering of anything to induce a person to do something contrary to law, morals, and good custom such as giving money, gift, treat to faculty member concerned or employee and any person acting for and his behalf, in order to obtain any kind of favor or benefit.

  13. Theft or damage to property of the college or of property owned by a member of the college.

  14. Physical assault, attacking, beating or mauling or inflicting physical injuries on any person.

  15. Extortion or illegal collection of money without school’s authority

  16. Disrupting classes or barricading the school entrance.

  17. nstigating, provoking, engaging in any strike, disorderly picket, strike or demonstration as a means of first resort against the school or any department, boycotting classes either directly by himself or through others. Preventing students from attending classes and inciting them to violate school harmful policies and regulations

  18. Throwing harmful objects causing injury

  19. Unauthorized/ Unofficial representation of the college that would destroy the good reputation of the school

  20. Forging/Falsifying, tampering and allowing the same acts to be committed by another on academic or any official record/ from like excuse letter from parents or medical certificate, documents of any kind either done by himself or through others.

  21. Seriously threatening students, or person with bodily harm.

  22. Other major offenses prejudicial to the interest of the school.

 

C. CONDUCT OUTSIDE THE SCHOOL

        Every student is always identified with the college to which he belongs. Consequently, he should de aware at all times that his behavior is reflective of the training he gets in the college. While outside the campus he should observe generally accepted rules of conduct and norms of behavior?

       Although the college cannot be held responsible for the conduct of its students outside the school premises, bad conduct of any of its student outside the school campus can be a cause for disciplinary action.
