This was clearly shown by their attitude towards the government when instead of being thankful to the government who had accorded them the best of treatment, they supported the opposition in the elections, he said. “This should not happen to our youngsters, because the government had considered them as the most valuable assets and accorded them the best treatment.” They were given the opportunity and incentives to acquire the highest education possible to change their life for the better so that they could contribute towards nation-building, he stressed. The youth seemed to be ungrateful to people, including their own parents, who gave them good things. More often than not they were more receptive to bad influence and preferred bad company. If that was the case, he felt there was a need for teachers to correct the attitude among the students, he said when he officiated at the divisional Education Department Excellent Awards presentation ceremony at the civic centre here yesterday afternoon. “Teachers ought to instill in their students the sense of appreciation towards those who give them opportunities and guidance towards a bright future.” To ensure our youth enjoyed the best opportunities in education, the government had allocated 45 per cent of the nation’s annual expenditure for education, he said, adding, that the budget included provision of free text books, free school fees, free examination fees and many other forms of assistance for the low-income group. No many governments offered this kind of treatment to the youth, he said, citing the case of China where children had to pay huge amount of fees to enroll into schools. Apart from education, the government had Publish Postalso allocated funds to ease the hardship of the people in general. That included cheap medical services at government hospital and subsidies on essential goods. It might be difficult to instill this value in the youth overnight, but he believed a systematic way of inculcating the value would gradually click in their mind. Maybe he should think trice. The reason why the younger generation of Sarikei, in particular, are not appreciating the government is because of the lack of job opportunity. I am doubtful if Ding is residing full time in Sarikei because Sarikei is almost a dead town. A town void of job opportunities. It is the government fault of not planning the future of Sarikei and provide the necessary uplifting for the residents there. Most young generation of Sarikei after completing their studies are migrating to Kuching or West Malaysia to look for jobs. The only people left at Sarikei are the old folks and school going kids. Those youths that stayed back at Sarikei probably does not have the right qualification for jobs outside Sarikei or maybe they are committed to accompany their parents at home. Locals originating from Sarikei loves their town and district but have to venture elsewhere to earn their living. Government did provide education but not the opportunity to work and stay in Sarikei. Lastly, Ding mentioned the cheap medical services at government hospital. All I can say is that the medical services of government run hospital is cheap but hopeless and slow with instances of reported negligent. What Ding should mentioned is that the government hospital is efficient. But that's is only a wish. As per what written in our myspace site,our "A beautiful Testimony" E.P 2008 will be out for free downloads in our myspace. All free for downloads On 1st April 2008. RGLP will feature "SandCastles" and "Turning Into Beautiful" free for downloads. The Full EP will only be available for downloads on May 2008. Just watch this space and enjoy RGLP songs. This EP was written within the period of Christmass 2007-Easter 2008. Have a blast and enjoy the downloads:) On a side note, Second ALbum is still on writting. For now the album would be something as 40% Full Band and 40% Acoustic and 20% will involve electronics and programming. Well we see how it goes:)Kudos! Bubblegum! was formed mid Feb 2008 under the old name Marie Claire, core of the members being united by one thing:- loafing around the immediate Ampang Point area. Playing indie/pop-punk (names like Midtown and Blink 182 [circa Dammit] come to mind), Bubblegum! comes across much like a musical experiment in contrasts, as indie pop stalwarts Acap F (The Fridays) and Epul (formerly of Apple Juice) join forces with hardcore/screamo heroes Eshut (Asthalin) and Kidd (Never Kill The Hero) to create...well...you be the judge of that. Reffering to the above, I’ve came across Acap’s pet project as The Auroras, Acap F, Acap F and the water lilies and Bublegum! Which one of these names belong to this band? All that I know this is a pet project by Acap of the Fridays. Something different and something which display less complicated in your face tongue in cheek fashion music direction that youre listen in his previous work. Listening to the Auroras or Bubblegum! Melody wise is like listening to old catalogues of the Fridays circa Bigger than both of us and My Blur Baby EP. Songwriting wise there is a lot of relationship and love story written here. I have to admit it; I am a fan of Acap’s work, despite his changes and different musical direction in previous Fridays: EP Under dosing. There is something magnetic about his songs and melodious hooks. One has to agree that Acap is one of a kind singer songwriter that ever to emerge in the Malaysian music scene. It is safe to say that he is a genius when it comes to writing pop goodness music. Imagine where he would be if he is in the states? He would be a millionaire making singles/albums at a day to day basis. Back to the review, The Auroras display good music and with a strong raw feeling in the music. It is sure a constant repeat in my play list. With sample tracks like “Letters to Mum” my current favorite short, simple and heartfelt. A song that make you smile, something that is so sincere and honestly. It has the aura of a good melodious pop goodness sprinkled with an aura of punk attitude. The acoustic version is soulful and heart warming. Soulful until when listening to it in a full band version, “Letters to Mum” took me off guard. With quirky and smart lyrics like “I’m In love with your daughter, give us a chance, I clean quite well and though I cant dance” At these lines, I was floored..Yes I was indeed floored! “Will you be my Eva Braun”, a track that was taken out from the Myspace play list is also one of my favorite. I’m waiting for its full release as a full band. Its kinda weird listening to this song as this is about his infatuation to Hitler’s wife-Eva Braun. Will you be my Eva Braun is another display of powerful track from Acap which is worth mentioning. Tracks like “Never” is a track which mainly deals with issues such as bands hardship and the scene that they’re in. With lines such as “A cup of coffee in one hand. A pack of lies to understand. She puts her destiny on hold. For rock radio. For rock radio.” “Jihan” is a birthday present by Acap to his girlfriend. I wont elaborate more on this as this is simply a love song for love ones. Overall Bubblegum! Music prevails in matters tackling with heart, relationships and also Some weird characthers that he plans to be with. A strong evidence in “Will you be my Eva Braun” I would recommend Bubblegum! music to anyone because it has all the Pop Godness and the intelegent songwriting skills that you rarely see in a local band that also includes RadioGravity LamePost..sometimes I wish I can write like Acap.
